Film charting the quest for Shackleton’s lost ship to debut at London Film Festival

We are thrilled to announce that the latest project from Stern & Wild filmmaker Natalie Hewit is set to premiere at this year’s BFI London Film Festival. Endurance is a feature documentary telling the story of polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew’s extraordinary feat of survival during the ill-fated Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1917) and the search by modern-day explorers to find his sunken ship.

The 100-minute film is produced by Nat Geo in partnership with History Hit, the content platform co-founded by historian Dan Snow; All3Media’s Little Dot Studios and production company Consequential. The film is co-directed by Natalie, whose documentation of the expedition to find the wreck of the Endurance in 2022 secured Reach the World’s Cronkite Award for Exploration and Storytelling, alongside the amazing Oscar-winning directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin.
