Matt Hill helms opener for Sky’s major new series based on David Frost interviews

Congratulations to Stern & Wild filmmaker Matt Hill, Director of Frost Vs The Beatles, the opening episode in Sky’s newly launched retrospective docuseries.

The six-part series David Frost Vs charts almost half a century of social change using decades’ of interviews conducted by celebrated broadcaster Sir David Frost with key political and cultural figures from Richard Nixon to Muhammad Ali. Each episode is anchored around Frost’s interviews with one key personality or group and includes contributions from a range of contemporary commentators including Tony Blair, Joanna Lumley and Liam Neeson. It is airing in two parts of three hour-long episodes each. The first part kicked off yesterday (23 February) with Matt’s episode which he directed alongside Tom McCarthy. It centres around Frost’s 16 interviews with The Beatles from their arrival on the scene in 60s London to their rise to US and global fame.

The series is a Sky Studios production made in collaboration with David Frost’s son Wilfred, with the family’s Paradine Productions and White Horse Pictures as co-producers. It was commissioned by Zai Bennett, MD of Content for Sky UK and Ireland, and Poppy Dixon, Director of Documentaries and Factual. Hayley Reynolds is the Commissioning Editor. Exec Producers are Danielle Peck for Sky Studios, Wilfred Frost for Paradine, and Nigel Sinclair and Cassidy Hartmann for White Horse. In addition to Matt and Tom, the Directors are Francis Longhurst, Liz Mermin and Marion Milne.

The series is already getting some great reviews, garnering four stars from both The Telegraph and The Times. The next two episodes are Frost Vs Muhammad Ali and Frost Vs Jane Fonda. To watch all of the first three episodes, click here.
