Simon is a documentary film maker specialising in adventure who has spent the last few years focussed on directing feature documentaries. He has been working in television for 28 years and has delivered shows across a huge range of genres from current affairs and formats to entertainment and commercials.
Simon brings knowledge and experience from all of these to his feature doc work. He’s passionate about story, character and good journalism. His work in the commercial and entertainment sectors means he approaches every film with cinematic ambition and scale.
Last year he produced and directed, Chasing a feature length documentary about one man’s obsession with rowing the Atlantic Ocean in record time. The film was Executive Produced by Oscar winner Evan Hayes (Being Cousteau, Free Solo, Nat Geo Films for Disney Plus) and edited by Jessica Congdon (The Way I see It, Theatrical Release, The Me You Can’t See for Apple TV). He is currently directing an expedition feature doc K2:The Calling, with Oscar Shortlisted Stevan Riley (Listen to Me Marlon for Showtime ) and Sean Richard (Pistorius for Amazon Prime).
Simon has delivered for National Geographic, Discovery, C4, ITV and Sky.
