Overview

Jim Greayer works as Series Director and Showrunner, specialising in documentary, drama-documentary and factual drama. His interest and experience centres on films about the recent and distant past, taking on subjects from the ancient world to contemporary US politics.

He has delivered major film projects for most of the British and US broadcasters and is as happy writing and structuring multipart series, or teasing out storytelling knots in the edit room.

Jim spent two years showrunning the History Channel’s biggest ever drama-documentary commission - the 8 x 60 minute epic Colosseum.

In 2020 he was the showrunner of First Ladies, the 6 x 60” high level US political biography series for CNN. The series was commissioned as cornerstone of the network's 2020 election offering, and remains one their highest ever rating series.

Jim shot his first full length feature drama in 2015. The Chameleon tells the terrifying true story of one of America’s most prolific but least known serial killers. Starring Joseph Millson, Sarah-Jane Potts, Amy Manson, Antonia Campbell-Hughes and Richard Brake, the film is distributed worldwide by Entertainment One.

The Chameleon won three awards at the British Independent Film Festival 2016: Best Actress (Sarah-Jane Potts), Best Cinematography and Best Feature. The film also won a Silver Palm in the Narrative Feature Film Competition at the Mexico International Film Festival 2016, and Best Film and Best Production Design at Sydney Indie Film Festival in October 2016.
