Duncan is an award winning, visually driven, and imaginative series director / documentary maker specialising in content rich, premium films with bold cinematic ambition. He has delivered stylish, beautiful and emotive films for Universal Television Alternative, Nat Geo, Netflix, Disney+, BBC, PBS and NBC.

Recent work includes the Universal/NBC prehistoric epic Surviving Earth (TX 2025) partnering with the creator of the global phenomenon Walking With Dinosaurs and Oscar winners Milk VFX (The Martian/Ex Machina). And the Emmy Nominated Earth.

His films range from scripted and fully storyboarded (Surviving Earth, Universal/NBC) to the more observational; Lost Tomb of Alexander the Great, Disney+ / Nat Geo. And his toolkit includes, drama reconstruction (Extra Life / Surviving Earth), archive (WW2 with Tom Hanks (w/t), US History / Charles and Diana, The Truth About their Wedding, BBC WW/C5), and feature film level CGI (Earth / Surviving Earth) including integrating actors with VFX to create distinctive, striking and dynamic sequences.

With compelling human characters and emotion lying at the narrative heart of Duncan’s films, he is also known for his strong relationships with on screen talent, and his ability to deliver authentic and open performances. Whether it’s with a high profile host (David Olusoga, Extra Life / Chris Pakham, Earth) or big name talent (Platon, Thomas Heatherwick, Anton Lesser, The Art that Made Us, BBC).

An excellent writer and edit producer, Duncan has a strong track record of making complex subjects accessible (Babies, Netflix / Earth BBC). He’s also a highly skilled self-shooter, and has run large scale and complex international shoots, from the mountains of Greenland, to the deserts of Egypt and the rainforests of the Amazon.

When he is not making films, he is an experienced Development Executive with a track record in selling single films and series in the UK and internationally.
